Public notification for a water system, also known as a boil order, is something that a district never wants to endure.
While there has never been a public notification caused by any SCADA system we support, there has been one that reduced the severity of it through use of SCADA.
SCADA Integrations provided emergency support to a Southern California water district that was in a serious water shortage caused by a shutdown for maintenance of a Metropolitan Water District facility. The shortage caused low pressure in the system and consequently a public notification. At a time when it was needed most, the SCADA system operated as required. This was in part due to the district's integrated use of SCADA, coupled with their upgrade to a high speed radio backbone servicing the area impacted.
SCADA was also used to provide the reporting information needed by the authorities to evaluate the severity of the situation.
While public notification is never intended, it makes a big difference during one to have a reliable SCADA system.
That is what SCADA Integrations provides.
