Water District Outcomes from Best Practice Implementation
-
Automated controls allow the water district’s equipment to be more reactive to offsite conditions, eliminating water shortages that cause back flow of contaminants and regulatory notification.
-
Complete information base for good decisions delivered giving management and operators all of the information necessary to best manage and optimize their water system and meet all external and internal reporting requirements;
-
Peace of mind knowing that all SCADA systems are redundant and constantly backed up.
-
Operators manage the system with SCADA instead of trying to manually react to changing conditions.
CITY OF BRAWLEY
-
With only 24 hours of downtime possible, SCADA Integrations designed and executed a plan to replace five (5) legacy PLC5 Allen Bradley PLC’s and re-develop the code.
-
The code was completely rewritten during development, tested, and then commissioned during the critical downtime window.
-
This project was especially important because the site was a raw water treatment facility and essentially the main source of water for the city. Due to the critical nature of the project, it was imperative to complete as planned and the project was a success.
CITY OF ALHAMBRA
-
SCADA Integrations replaced all PLC’s with Modicon M340’s with virtually no impact on operations.
-
In addition, SCADA Integrations upgraded the Wonderware InTouch HMI and communications network in such a way that the City of Alhambra’s SCADA system has been utilized by the Operators on a daily basis with confidence.
